EastEnders fan favorite Laila Morse will reprise her role as ‘Big’ Mo Harris in the spring. When Mo, the 78-year-old actress, embarked on a cruise with her intermittent partner, Fat Elvis, in 2021, she last frequented Albert Square as the role. Morse has since appeared in a few Walford guest appearances.
Filming for her return to the Square has started, and Morse will be accompanied by Bobby Brazier’s character, Freddie Slater, her great-grandson.
“I’m thrilled to be heading back to Walford to breathe life into Mo once again,” Morse remarked, expressing her happiness. I have a particular place in my heart for “EastEnders,” and I can’t wait to see both old and new people again, along with my on-screen family, who I consider to be my actual family.”

Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw expressed his pleasure, adding, “We are very happy that Laila Morse is returning as Mo Harris. Even though Mo’s absence from the Square was brief, her return will undoubtedly cause a stir among the Slater family, who have experienced a great deal of turmoil during her leave. Laila’s permanent return is greatly appreciated, especially because she will be working with her great-grandson Freddie to get right into the drama.
Fans can have an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Mo and Freddie’s choice to return home on the ‘EastEnders’ TikTok account, ahead of their homecoming to Walford. Both characters will be followed throughout the series as they live in Mo’s trailer, which she has been living in since fleeing Walford.

EastEnders Fan Favorite Laila Morse
The 19-year cast member Morse rejected the notion of a full-time comeback in a recent interview with the Metro newspaper, stating, “I left in April. I wouldn’t mind returning for a little narrative or special appearance if they ever wanted me to, but I don’t see myself staying on full-time. I’ve moved passed that phase. Other hobbies of mine include biking and traveling. Heck, if someone is willing to teach me, I might even pick up the skill of motorcycling!”
